Inner Garden: Peace of Mind for Android

(The full press release is here.)

Inner Garden is a quiet, peaceful playground that allows you to build your dream garden in your phone. The Android app offers  a large selection of beautifully detailed, realistic art which you can use to create your own private garden havens – in any style you like: small or sprawling, tidy or wild, anything from cozy flower garden corners to sweeping park vistas and even rugged wilderness.

You can then share your garden with your friends via social networks or email, set it up as a wallpaper or perhaps print it as a postcard or poster. You can immerse in Inner Garden for a few quiet moments on your daily commute, make gardens as charmingly poetic messages for your loved ones or even test out ideas and get inspiration for your real garden.

Forget about anything that causes stress or distraction: things like money, nags, reminders, spam or obnoxious music are not allowed here. We wanted to give you a canvas for your imagination to paint on, and then step back politely and leave you alone with your dreams, hopes and memories – for this is how a real garden affects one’s soul. The quiet, calming acoustic music helps you to wander off and lose yourself in your garden.

After several minutes spent with this app, you’ll find your mind in a different place: relaxed and focused at the same time, wandering free and wide, in the garden world of your own making, the mirror of your very own soul. The most precious thoughts can come in such moments: and we leave you alone to experience them in privacy and tranquility.

The basic free version comes with a plenty of art to play with, but if you crave more, you can buy themed expansion packs, such as Desert Garden or Classic Garden.  New packs are released every couple of weeks, so remember to keep your app up-to-date to know when a new one becomes available. The expansion packs are our only source of income, so if you buy one, you can also feel righteous for helping us to pay our bills! ;-)

The Tips&Tricks section of this website contains dozens of ideas to inspire you. You can also check out gardens made by others at our Facebook community page, and upload yours, of course. Facebook page is also a good way to let us know what you would like to see in the next update or art pack, and learn about promotions or availability of new expansion packs.

Welcome to Inner Garden, make yourself at home here!

Love this. The only thing I have noticed is when saving a creation we are not able to name it. I know we can name a new garden, but cannot name one have already made. Otherwise, this is a great idea and very enjoyable.

Interesting that you mention this, Esther. We do have a “Save As” option in the development build of Inner Garden which we use all the time, but we thought it would be too confusing for most users so we left it out in the release… Thanks for pointing this out, we’ll discuss this and perhaps introduce in an update! :)

Hi Adrian, it would be awesome to have Inner Garden on PC, but my brother Pavel the programmer tells me the port would be tons of work… We’ll see, maybe sometime in the future!

Haven’t tried this yet (as I type this, it’s downloading on on my Sis’s phone, right next to me!), but it’s a fabulous idea :-), I love it!

I came here looking for a PC version too, just like Adrian! Hmmm, perhaps it’s about time I got myself an Android , phone :-)?

Good job, I also love the theme of this web page!

Thanks Anand! As I mentioned to Adrian, there is a technical difficulty involved. The program has over 40 000 lines in Java for Android, and any port would mean re-writing the whole thing – can you imagine just *typing* that amount of code? Let alone actually programming. ;) It is the same for iOS port – a lot of work. If we make some money, maybe we could hire people to do that, but until then, we have to decide very carefully where we put our time. As for now, it looks like Android will be our priority for a while because we want to add exciting new features, like animated animals etc. :)

I would love to see an exotic plants expansion, like venus fly traps, or plants out of a tropical rain forest..it would certainly go further in enticing me to purchase an expansion pack..as it stands now the current expansions dont appeal to me enough. Wonderful job on the game tho.

Hi Loki, we want to add more packs to have something for most people, if not everyone! ;) Tropical garden, along with Japanese garden, winter garden, flower garden and historic buildings is high on the list. I personally would like to do also more off-beat stuff, for example industrial gardens (industrial areas re-developed into parks such as Schöneberger Südgelände in Berlin), or fantasy garden, based on famous old paintings.

Very nice game. I wonder why Desert and Classic garden cost money? I think it should be free like Innergarden. :-)

Thank you very much! The next one will be free – children’s playground (for all the kids and moms and dads out there :), and after that – historic landmarks. By the end of the year, we want to have 10-12 packs out – I think that will be quite exciting to see Inner Garden with so much diverse content. :)

Hi, love inner garden and have bought two expansion packs. My grand-daughter (5) also loves it but I cannot work out how to save gardens so can open the one I’m doing or hers without erasing them. I have tried updating to latest version, saving to SD but cant name garden or find where it saved to.
    Using Galaxy Tab 10.1 GP-P5100 4.0.3
